People who did sins in their previous lives, have lesser life span in this birth.
Such persons by chanting Rudram will be acquitted of their sins. After destruction of their sins they will enjoy long life and live happily. By chanting Rudram one gets riches, knowledge, health, brightness, lustrousness, strength, courage and wisdom. One who does bath in the water that flows out of anointing of Siva and drinks it as teertha will become pure.
They have no fear of death, I shall tell you one more, one who chants or meditates on Rudram will become ever living.
“One who did bath with anointed water of Siva, he by foregoing the fear of death, will cross the ocean of births and deaths.
If one does hundred times Parayana of Rudram he will live for hundred years. You tell all this to your servants. Those who chant Rudram are not to be punished by you. Hearing to what is said by Brahma, Yama lord of death went to his place told all this to His servants. He instructed them about their behaviour with such persons.
